Earth Day Activities & Crafts for K-2

Teaching about Earth Day can sometimes be hard, especially in the younger grades. You want to teach them about recycling and saving the planet, but you want more than just a coloring page with some words on it! Luckily for you, I have created two separate packets just for Earth Day with kindergarten through second graders in mind!

Earth Day is a great time to tie in your science standards of reducing, reusing and recycling along with many language arts and math standards to teach how helping the Earth helps all of us!

You will find everything from cut and paste activities to coloring pages (with a meaning) and everything in between! Honestly, you’ll probably have too many things to choose from…and that’s not a bad problem to have!

These activities can be used in the weeks leading up to Earth Day, the day itself and the weeks after. They can even be used when you teach your science standards about recycling!

If you are looking for more crafts to use with your students, then the Earth Day craft packet is more for you. Inside you will find 7 different crafts including:

  • 10 Earth Day Crowns
  • Earth Day Person Craft (with at least 2 different variations)
  • Earth Day Mobile
  • Earth Day Paper Bag Puppet
  • Earth Day Writing Craft #1 with a topper, bottom, a blank writing page and 4 writing propt pages
  • Earth Day Writing Craft #1 with 8 toppers to choose from, a blank writing page and 9 different writing prompt pages
  • Earth Day lapbook

If you’re a visual learner and these crafts look fun, but you just need to SEE how to make them, you are in luck because I just created a YouTube channel where I will post all of my “How To” videos and all of these Earth Day crafts are alredy on there! Go check them out and let me know what you think!

Happy Teaching!
