Differentiated Cut & Paste Sentences

Have you ever wished you had a center or a resource that helped you teach your students how to make complete sentences? You know something more than the standard “I can jump.” or “She is happy.” Something more substantial. Something with more “umph”!

Teaching students to write complete sentences can sometimes make you want to pull your hair out. You have them color (or draw a picture) and then write about it only to see they have two to three words on the paper.

Or what about the students that know how to write great sentences, but you want them to extend them or draw a picture to match their writing.

This is where this differentiation comes into play. You have students at all different levels in your classroom, and you want to reach them all but you don’t have the time to create all the different leveled stations you need to meet the needs of all of your students….but you don’t have to, because I already created it for you!

What if you could reach all of your students at five different levels in a FUN way.

What if you have 5 differentiated options of sentence building at your fingertips for your students? Would you use it?

Let’s check out each option:

  • Option #1: Color the picture. Cut and paste the words to match the picture. One word in the sentence has a picture clue. (Lots of support!)
  • Option #2: Draw a picture to match the sentence. One word in the sentence has a picture clue. (Very supportive!)
  • Option #3: Draw a picture to match the sentence. One word in the sentence has a picture clue. Write the sentence on the lines.
  • Options #4: Draw a picture to match the sentence. There is no picture clues in the sentence, only words.
  • Option #5: Draw a picture to match the sentence. There is no picture clues in the sentence, only words. Write the sentence on the lines.

So whether you are looking for extra sentence support for your students, a new center activity or just a way to build writing skills for your students, make sure you check out one of the 18 differentiated Cut & Paste Sentence packets below.
